I had a great time at Idanha-A-Vida. Flávio and the team are very welcoming and great fun to work with. The work is varied, from gardening and maintenance to rewilding initiatives in the field. I wasn’t able to get into the field that much as it was the height of summer and fieldwork wasn’t possible, but the team (especially Maria and Arancia) took us into the field a few times to show us what was going on and how the project was helping to restore the biodiversity of the area, which I am very grateful for. Overall an excellent time, lots of good hikes and swimming nearby as well, in the beautiful Portuguese countryside.
